Kouha WIP 2: "Ei menny ihan niinku Strömsössä"

 Kouhan teko on jatkunu kovaa vauhtia parin päivän aikana. Kaikki ompelua vaativat osat on oikeestaan valmiina. Pöytä on ollu kyllä niin täynnä kaikkea rompetta että :D

Been working on Kouha for a couple of days pretty hard. I've finished all parts that need sewing. My table has been so full of stuff :'D

Aloitetaan vaikka hatusta, koska siitä on ollut jo aiemmin puhetta. Tein reunat ja päällisen samoista matskuista kuin takissakin. Sitten sifonkista lärpäkkeet kiinni.

Let's start with the hat, I have already talked about it earlier. I made the rims and the head-part from same materials as used in the jacket. Then added the red chiffon.

Kaikki pienet osat ja armorit yms yms on tehty softiksesta, pääsääntösesti 3 mm, paitsi polvijutut 6 mm. Gessoilin ne ja maalia päälle. Rannejuttuja yritin tehdä,  mutta siitä tuli liian pieni. Ja tällä hetkellä softista riittää vaan yhteen kun Hobby Pointissa ei ollu 3 mm softista kun viimeks kävin >:

Samasta sifonkista ompelin säärystinasiat, jotka odottavat vielä softisosien liimailua. Hatun koristeen kivi on muotoilumassasta,samoin kun rannejuttjen kivet jahka ne teen.

All the small parts and armors etc etc I made from foam, mostly from 3 mm except the knee thingys from 6 mm. Put on gesso and painted. I tried to do the wrist things, but it turned out to be too small. And at this moment I have foam for only one as Hobby Point didn't have 3mm foam when I last time went there >: The gem of the hat's decoration is modelling material, as will be the wrist thing's gems when I do them.

Takin nyörejä mietin pitkään miten teen ne. Eka tarkotus oli käyttää kanttinauhaa, mutta sitten löysin Suomalaisesta kultanyöriä. Letitin siitä tarpeeksi paksut nyörit, yhdessä nyöri muodostuu kolmesta pikkuletistä. Eli yhteensä 9 lettiä.

I wondered for a long time how I would do the jacket's strings. First I was going to do them from the lining ribbon, but then I found gold string from Suomalainen kirjakauppa. I braided it to be fat enough, one string has three small braids. Altoghether 9 braids.

En viitsisi jotenkin suoraan noita takin juttuja liimata kiinni softiksen takia jos takki vaikka joskus pitää pestä. Mietin jotain tarra/neppari systeemiä. Myös siksi että esim. hattu tulee käytännössä kiinni takkiin.

I wouldn't like to glue the foam parts straight to the jacket, if the jacket need to be washed at some time. I was thinking of sticker/snap system. Also since the hat will be joined to the jacket.

Housujen kanssa sitten saikin tapella. Tein kahdet housut. Ekat onnistu hyvin, mutta kappas, kun ne yritti vetää päälle nii eipä mahtunu! Ensin meinasin vaan että ompelisi jonkun välikankaan takakappaleisiin, koska ei se takin alta näy. Sen verran kumminki cosplay-pefektionismi on muhunki iskeny, etten suostunu tähän, joten päätin tehdä uudet. Siinä tuli sitten uusien palojen kanssa vähän ensin sählinkiä (onneks sitä kangasta oli tosiaan alunperin se 5 m! :D). 

I had quite a fight with the pants. I made two. First came out quite well, but oh look, when I tried them on they were too small! At first I was about to just sew some more fabric to the back piece, as it wouldn't show from under the jacket. But I have become enough cosplay perfectionist that I didn't agree with myself on that, so I made new ones. There was somef fighting with the pieced too (thank god I had 5 m of that fabric at the start! :D).

Housu nro kakkosetkaan eivät säästyneet ongelmilta. Kaikki meni hyvin kunnes piti punainen vyötäröhärpäke ommella kiinni. Olin housuihin laittanut kuminauhan sisälle jotta ne pysyy päällä, mutta tämäpä jumitti nauhan kokonaan! Purin ja ja pohdin, ja lopulta pääsdyin ompelemaan sen käsin muutamasta kohdasta pienillä pistoilla. Lahkeet rypytin (senkin kaks kertaa) ja sidoin nauhat.

Pants nro 2 didn't survive without problems either. Everything went fine until I had to add the red waist thing. I put rubber band into the pants so that they would stay up, but this jammed the band completely! I teared it apart and thought, and in the end I sew it from the few parts by hand with small stitches. I wrinkelt (twice this as well) and added the ribbons.

Eli valmista on tällä hetkellä ehkä joku 80 %! Miinus miekka. En tiedä teenkö sitä Traconiin, koska miks turhaan raahata hiton isoo asetta Tampereelle asti jossa se sitten joutuu suurimman osan conista olemaan narikassa.

So I have about 80% ready! Minus the sword. I'm not sure if  I'll make it to Tracon, since why should I drag huge weapon all way to Tampere where it has to sit at the cloakroom most of the con.

Eipä mulla muuta. Ens viikoksi menen sitten mökille, ja lauantaina lähdetään Lappiin isoveljen luo viikoksi. Sitten onkin Ropecon. Nyt menen syömään lettuja.

Nothing else this time. For next week I'm going to our summer cottage and Saturday we leave to Lapland to my big bro's. After that is Ropecon. Now I'm going to eat pan cakes.
